Brett Young and his wife Taylor are expecting their first baby girl in mid-October, and when we talked to Brett about how ready he is, he said, “It feels like we’re at a place where we have enough things in the house and in the car that we could keep her alive, which is actually a good feeling, cause that was the goal, to get to the ‘keep her alive place.”
They’ll be welcoming their little girl into their new home, which they bought earlier this year, and Brett says, “The house took a backseat because the nursery became the important thing, so the house is empty but the nursery’s full. So, we’re gettin’ there.”
Now that Brett and Taylor are confident they have the necessities of life for their little girl, he says, “Now we’re in the like, day-to-day, like she should probably have art on the wall in the nursery.” He also says, “We’re now kind of trying to style her out, but yeah, the cars and the nursery are ready, so that’s a good feeling.”
While the Baby Girl Young’s due date is a little over two weeks away, Brett’s not too nervous because he says, “Everybody gives the same advice – you’re never going to be ready, but then you’ll just figure it out. We’ve heard it from enough people, it must be true. We’re gonna try to stress out as little as possible,” because he jokes, “She’s comin’, whether we like it or not!”
While Brett awaits the arrival of his first child, he has two more tour dates this week to promote his latest single, “Catch,” and then he’ll have the rest of the month off to spend time with his family.
