This summer, Brett Young will be the opening act for Jason Aldean on the We Back Tour, but until the coronavirus caused him to pause his live shows, Brett was headlining The Chapters Tour, and he says, “The Chapters Tour has been my favorite so far creatively, just because as a songwriter, and then even as an artist, my whole thing has been that I always want to be as transparent and honest with listeners as possible, so that when you come, you feel like you have an idea of who I am as a person, and then that makes the songs make sense.”
As the headliner, Brett is able to play longer and really dive deeper into his songs and the stories behind them, and he says, “I always call it pulling back the curtain. I feel like with this tour we finally used the tour as another avenue to pull back the curtain even further. It tells more of the story, the story that I’m already telling on both records, we’re now telling with the show, so it’s really special. It’s really intimate and vulnerable and I think it’s different than anything we’ve ever done. So, safe to say that I’m enjoying it and every single night is really special to me.”
The Chapters Tour is named after one of the songs on Brett’s Ticket to L.A. album, which also features his latest single, “Catch.” Brett had to return early and cancel the remainder of the European leg of his tour, including performances at the C2C: Country to Country Music Festival, due to the coronavirus pandemic. So far, none of his U.S dates have been impacted, but that, of course, is all subject to change as the U.S. is on a day by day decision making process until the pandemic can be brought under control. So if you have tickets to one of Brett’s upcoming shows, keep an eye on his socials and his website for further updates as they become available.
