CURRENT SINGLE: “Lady”
This Thursday, February 4th, Brett Young is teaming up with Spirit Airlines and Mastercard to play a very unique, live virtual show. As Brett explains it, he’s going to be playing a full-band show, at an airport, “out in front of an active runway, in front of an airplane with my face on it, to help launch Spirit’s new rewards program called Free Spirit.”
That means planes will be landing while Brett and his band are playing the hour-long, free virtual concert, which will definitely be unique. The show will start with Brett doing a quick interview with the CEO of Spirit Airlines on the plane with Brett’s face on it, in one of their new Big Front Seats, and then, Brett says, “Pretty much right as we wrap that interview, music‘s gonna start playing and I’m gonna have to beeline to the back of the plane and actually walk down the steps from the plane. And as I walk down the stairs, that’s when the music will actually start. I think I have to start singing on the stairs. So, it’s gonna be interesting but pretty cool.”
As for a giant picture of Brett’s face being on the side of an airplane, he says, “Yeah, that’s pretty bizarre, in a cool way I think though. If you would’ve told, like 14-year-old Brett that one day not only was he gonna be on the side of a plane, but a plane that’s gonna be in like regular rotation for the next six months, I probably would’ve laughed at you.”
The bright yellow Spirit Airlines planes are already hard to miss, but then you add a giant picture of Brett Young’s face on the side of the plane and it will be pretty unmistakable. “They put it on one of their larger planes too,” says Brett. “So, it’s gonna be going to L.A., and I think recently it just did Dallas and Vegas. And so, it’s kinda makin’ the rounds already. It’s a pretty surreal thing. It’s already getting tagged quite a bit on Instagram, which is pretty funny.”
If you happen to see Brett’s face up in the sky or at an airport, you can snap a picture and post it using #catchmybrett. And don’t forget to watch Brett’s full-band, free livestream show on Spirit Airline’s YouTube page, this Thursday night at 8pm ET/7pm CT. You can also visit spirit.com/flyaway to find out how to get 100 free Spirit Points, as part of their new rewards program, just for watching Brett’s live stream show.

“So, this Thursday night’s very exciting. I have partnered up with Spirit Airlines and Mastercard to do a big virtual show out in front of an active runway, in front of an airplane with my face on it, to help launch Spirit’s new rewards program called Free Spirit. So, it’s gonna be this Thursday, me and the whole band. And it’s gonna be a free show so, if you wanna go to Spirit’s YouTube channel, but also go to spirit.com/flyaway to get all the details. And it’s just been too long since we’ve gotten to play live music, so we’re looking forward to it and we hope to ‘see’ you there.”

“Right leading up to the show, I’m going to do a little interview with the CEO in the front row in one of their new big front seats. And so, pretty much right as we wrap that interview, music‘s gonna start playing and I’m gonna have to beeline to the back of the plane and actually walk down the steps from the plane. The plane will be parked with an active runway right behind it, so it’s a pretty cool deal. And as I walk down the stairs, that’s when the music will actually start. I think I have to start singing on the stairs. So, it’s gonna be interesting but pretty cool.”
