SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE #1 SINGLE: “Lady”
Brett Young has quite a few tattoos, including a full sleeve on his left arm that goes all the way up to his shoulder and down to his pectoral muscle. In fact, Brett remembers getting the sleeve finished on tour. “My tattoo artist, Bubba Irwin, is such a good buddy and he’s such a big music fan,” says Brett. “He had never been on the road for a full weekend. He was finishing a sleeve for me at the time, so I was like, ‘We’ll just work when we can.’ And I think I actually did three different sessions the same day. One in the morning, one after soundcheck and then another evening one after the show, and I don’t recommend that by the way. That last one was really painful.”
Brett reveals he recently got what he thinks will be his last tattoo. “I just got one recently that I knew would kind of finish it off, and that was my children’s heart beats on my ribs. The new baby, obviously, we’ve already had the first ultrasound, so we have that heartbeat as well. So, I went ahead and did it.”
Even though Brett has probably lost his leg to stand on when it comes to saying no to his daughters about tattoos when they’re older, he says, “I think dad needs to stop now. It’s already gonna be hard enough to tell them they can’t get any when I have as many as I do.”
