Brett Young filmed part of the video for his latest song, “Like I Loved You,” in a $23 million mansion up in the Hollywood Hills.  For this particular video Brett wanted the story line to mirror the story line in the song, so he says, “You kind of see me going through a breakup and kind of dealing with it and it’s just focused in two spaces.  It’s in that one home up in the hills with views of the city, very dark and gray and then in a very small little dark, it’s not smoky but it almost feels like one of those bars that will be a dark smoky, old kind of crooner bar called the Roger Room in Los Angeles.”

Unlike his last video for “In Case You Didn’t Know,” which was a little more non-specific, Brett says, the video for “Like I Loved You” “follows the story line to a T because I think the concept of having somebody break your heart and then having the audacity to say, ‘I really hope we can still be friends,’ I think that’s something that everybody’s familiar with, and as with ‘In Case You Didn’t Know,’ we didn’t want to tell too much of a story with ‘Like I Loved You.’ We wanted to make sure the story didn’t get lost because it’s so specific.”

“Like I Loved You” is the third single off Brett’s self-titled debut album, and he’s hoping it will be his third #1 song.

“We’ve got up there at sunset. It was a very gray, gloomy, like stereotypical May-June L.A. morning. And with the last video we didn’t tell a story in the video, we let the story be the song and you just see me walking through a beautiful theater.  And I wanted this one to more follow the story line. I always wanted to throw his name back in the hat and we did this time and his treatment was just absolutely our favorite. He’s so good with visuals and I’m excited about it. I think it turned out really cool.”
