“Here Tonight” is the first single Brett Young released off his new album, Ticket to L.A., and he says there were a couple of reasons he wanted that to be the first song fans heard off his new project. “I think it was important for a song like, ‘Here Tonight,’ to be the first song off the second record. Because all of the singles, with the first record, it was a couple ballads and even the ones that felt like they had a little tempo to them were really mid-tempo songs. And it’s not the formula that most people follow, so with the second record we just wanted to make sure that nobody thought that that’s all we did was the ballad and the slow song.”
Besides wanting to show off his musical versatility, Brett says “I feel like everybody can relate to this song, I feel like ‘Here Tonight’ was the perfect song to come out of the gate with on album number two.”
