When Brett Young released his latest album, Ticket to L.A., he was excited to deliver more uptempo and happy songs to his fans, after his ballad-heavy debut album. He was hopeful his fans would embrace the new music as much as they had his first album, but he says, “I try really hard to manage my expectations. You never want to expect things to do poorly, you know. You don’t want to put that into the universe. But, if you over expect, it’s easy to get let down.”
Not only did the fans embrace the new project, making the first single, “Here Tonight,” Brett’s fifth number one song in a row, but he says, “As much as I thought this was gonna get a good reaction, I didn’t expect this. It has brought the energy at our live show up so much and so it’s been kind of an overwhelming reaction.”
You can see Brett performing his hit as well as some of the new music off Ticket to L.A. on the Miss Me More Tour, which he is out on now with Kelsea Ballerini. Get details and tickets at brettyoungmusic.com.

Brett Young – fan reaction to album :35
“I try really hard to manage my expectations. You never want to expect things to do poorly, you know. You don’t want to put that into the universe. But, if you over expect, it’s easy to get let down. And I was really proud of the songs, which made me really proud of the record as a whole, as a project. I knew that was gonna be enough for me regardless of the reaction that it got, but I was hopeful. My whole thing was, if you spend the time and energy making this as good as you believe it can be, then people will receive it well. And as much as I thought this was gonna get a good reaction, I didn’t expect this. It has brought the energy at our live show up so much and so it’s been kind of an overwhelming reaction.”
