When an artist is first starting out, they’re always trying to figure out how to put on a compelling live show with maybe one or two, or even no hits. Fortunately for Brett Young, that problem didn’t last long, because he scored four #1, Platinum or multi-Platinum songs on his debut album, and now he has a second album full of music he can add to the set list. Brett says, “We’re on single number one with this record, but people have been exposed to the whole record a little bit if they’ve bought it and really dug in.”
Besides having more familiar songs, Brett, whose first album featured a good amount of ballads, says, “There’s more tempo on the second record and that really helps kind of lift up the live show and so I think combination of having a little bit more up-tempo music and having more songs that people are familiar with … I think it’s helped the live show a ton. And we’re playing 75 minutes already now and I’ve noticed that it really helps hold onto the fans’ attention.”
One of those familiar up-tempo songs Brett has been able to add to his live shows is his current single, “Here Tonight,” which is already a top ten song, and looking like it’s poised to become his fifth consecutive #1 song in the next few weeks.
