Brett Young is a fantastic singer, so it’s no surprise that he often sings to his five-month-old daughter, Presley, but they’re all songs you’ve never heard of … and never will. “My wife wishes that I would sing more of my songs or like, ‘real songs,’ she calls them,” says Brett.”
We asked if there was a particular song she responds to, but Brett says rather than serenading his daughter with popular songs, “I make up little things when she’s crying to try to calm her down, and they’re goofy and they’re silly but they work. And, no, there’s not one song because none of them are actual songs. They’re all in the moment – it’s like, let’s make up some words to a melody that seemed to calm this girl down.”
Brett recently serenaded his fans with an acoustic version of his latest single, “Catch,” which he filmed on his tour bus, parked in front of his house, where he is finishing up a 14-day quarantine after returning from Europe. You can see that on his social media accounts, but unfortunately we’ll never get to hear the songs Brett sings to his baby girl because he says, “It’s all really silly and it’s nothing that will ever make it outside the walls of our house, that’s for sure.”
