CURRENT SINGLE: “It’s Cause I Am”
Callista Clark’s career was launched by a video she posted of herself playing guitar and singing Credence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain,” when she was just 13 years old. She had been posting videos of her singing online for a while, and she says, “When I first started doing videos on my social media, it was definitely for fun.”
It was a way for Callista to share her singing with family and friends, and she says, “One of the very first ones I ever posted was on my Instagram, and I sang a Dolly Parton song. It was one of the first songs I ever learned on guitar. This was back when the videos had to be 15 seconds on Instagram. So, it was like right when you started playing, the video would end. But it was definitely more for fun.”
Then people started discovering Callista’s incredible voice and sharing her videos, and she says, “Then it started to progress into this thing where I was gaining followers and getting views, and everything like that. And it just turned into what it is now.”
What it is now is Callista with a record deal, and her debut single, “It’s Cause I Am,” on country radio, and that video 13-year-old Callista posted of herself covering CCR now has over 29 million views on Facebook.
