current single: “TRUCK ON FIRE”
Before Carly Pearce signed her record deal she did whatever jobs she had to do to afford to stay in Nashville and pursue her country music dreams. And she admits that sometimes those unglamorous jobs were downright nasty.
Carly Pearce – Labor Day jobs before music :41
“I used to work in the Banana Republic in the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, which is kind of the touristy mall, so we’d get a lot of traffic. So, I worked there ten hours on a Saturday, which you see a lot of people. And then I also cleaned Air B ‘n B’s, which is not glamorous at all. I cleaned a lot of toilets, scrubbed a lot of floors, cleaned a lot of sheets. Nasty (giggle). And I also nannied, which was super fun but hard work. Little kids are hard. But I always knew that I wanted to do music, so it was always, just get me to the next gig, let me have enough money to make it through. I’ll do this job for a while cause I know I’ve got my heart set on country music.”
