When you listen to Carly Pearce’s music, it is very easy to hear where she was at in her life when she wrote certain songs, what she was going through and what condition her heart was in. But walking the line between sharing every detail of her life with fans and being authentic in her music is a tricky situation, and Carly says, “I think I’m learning that. I think you have to fail to figure it out. And I think I’ve probably exploited too much of certain parts of my life and probably kept some things private.”
Where Carly is probably learning her biggest lessons is how much she shares on social media and in interviews, because the honesty in her songwriting is never going to change. “I think that in the lyrics of my songs I’m giving you a hundred percent of who I am,” says Carly. “It’s the only way I know how to emote and it’s the only way that I want to write songs because it’s the only way that I can really say, this is who I am. You’re getting a hundred percent of my story. I hope that you can relate and that I can be a vessel for you.”
So, in the future, fans will probably have to pay more attention to her lyrics and what she’s saying in her songs if they want to know where she’s at in her personal life, what she’s going through and what the condition of her heart is.
