CURRENT SINGLE: “Next Girl”
After Carly Pearce was surprised by Dolly Parton with her invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry, she received even more surprises from some of the women she idolizes in country music. “I got a random phone call and picked it up,” says Carly, “and it was Barbara Mandrell, who, I’ve never met her. And she had this long conversation with me about becoming a member (of the Opry), and how excited she was for me, and just giving me some of her insight.”
Carly is definitely glad she didn’t let that one go to voicemail. And Barbara Mandrell wasn’t the only one who reached out to congratulate Carly. “It’s just like, these absolute idols… Trisha Yearwood sent me a text, and I’m like, thanks Trisha?!” she said in a voice of disbelief. “It’s just so crazy to have these women that I’ve really looked up to, that are country music royalty, wrapping their arms around me.”
We have a feeling Carly will be getting a lot more unexpected and mind-blowing texts and phone calls when she is inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on August 3rd.
