(AUDIO) CARLY PEARCE IS WRITING AND CHOOSING THE SONGS THAT REPRESENT HER LIFE FOR HER SOPHOMORE ALBUM

Carly Pearce is hard at work on her sophomore album, including writing a lot of songs for the project, but ultimately she says the album will feature songs that best express where she’s at in her life now, whether she writes them or not.  “There will definitely be a lot of songs that I’ve written just because that’s who I am.  But I think that I’m approaching this album, knowing how busy I am, knowing how many amazing songs I’m hearing, and I think at the end of the day, yes, there is going to be songs on there that I’ve definitely written because they’re coming to mind as I sit here. But I think there’s also gonna be those outside songs like ‘Closer to You,’ that just identify and articulate the moment in time that I am better than I did.”

Carly’s latest song, “Closer to You,” was co-written by Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Troy Verges, but Carly says the minute she heard it, she knew she had to record it, because it was so representative of where she’s at in her life at this very moment.
