CURRENT SINGLE: “Next Girl”
If you’ve seen the video for Carly Pearce’s latest single, “Next Girl,” then you know it’s a comedic portrayal of her as different women in a bar trying to side-step, escape and avoid all the creepy types of guys women run into at bars. “I wanted the video to be lighthearted and fun,” says Carly. “And I really wanted to challenge myself to play more than just myself in a video, and kind of take on all these different girls that experience this crazy guy in all different forms that maybe he shows up in a night.”
One of the parts of the video that really made her laugh, because it’s a familiar scenario, is at the end, with the guy who just doesn’t get it. Carly says, “The lead guy at the very ( they have a chance] , but they convince themselves, ‘She totally wants me.’ And that’s really funny.”
Carly likes to think of “Next Girl” as a PSA for other women, about the smooth talking, creepy player guys they should look out for and avoid, so they don’t become just the “Next Girl.”
