CURRENT SINGLE: “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” w/ Ashley McBryde
Carly Pearce has been through a few heartbreaks in her life, some of which she has chronicled in her songs like “Every Little Thing,” and many of the songs on her 29: Written in Stone album, including her latest single with Ashley McBryde, “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.” Even with all the hurt and the disappointment Carly has been so open about sharing in her songs from past relationships, she hasn’t given up on love. “In relationships that I’ve seen and that I’ve been through, it’s so easy to just be sad and think, ‘what’s wrong with me’ or ‘what happened?’”
While she’s had those moments of questioning herself, Carly says what she’s ultimately learned is that, “A lot of times you just have to know that you’re worth it. And if a relationship doesn’t work out it’s gonna be fine because you’re gonna find something that’s more suited for you.”
In fact, if you’ve seen Carly on some of the recent awards shows, you know she’s been dating a guy for a while now. Carly opened up to ET about her boyfriend, Riley King, whom she met through mutual friends and has been dating for about a year. She told ET’s Rachel Smith, “It feels really good, and I think it is all in the right timing,” Pearce said. “I feel really lucky in every sense.”
