(AUDIO) CARLY PEARCE TOOK SOME NASTY JOBS TO CHASE HER COUNTRY MUSIC DREAM

Some aspiring artists say they would do anything to achieve their country music dreams, but Carly Pearce proved it with some of the jobs she took while trying to get her music career off the ground.  She worked retail in a tourist destination mall in Nashville, and then she cleaned Air B and B’s, which she says, “Is not glamorous at all. I cleaned a lot of toilets, scrubbed a lot of floors, cleaned a lot of sheets. Nasty.”

Another one of Carly’s jobs was eye-opening about having kids.  She was a nanny and she says, “{It} was super fun, but hard work. Little kids are hard. But I always knew that I wanted to do music. So, it was always, just get me to the next gig, let me have enough money to make it through. I’ll do this job for a while because I know I’ve got my heart set on country music.”

Now with a #1 song and her second single, “Hide the Wine,” in the top 20, Carly would probably tell you it was all worth it.

“I used to work in the Banana Republic in the Opry Mills mall in Nashville, which is kind of a ‘touristy’ mall. So, we get a lot of traffic.  I worked there 10 hours on a Saturday, which you see a lot of people.

And then I also cleaned Air B and B’s, which is not glamorous at all. I cleaned a lot of toilets, scrubbed a lot of floors, cleaned a lot of sheets. Nasty. And, I also nannied, which was super fun, but hard work. Little kids are hard. But I always knew that I wanted to do music.
