Being married to another country star, like Carly Pearce is to Michael Ray, can be tricky when it comes to planning out schedules to make sure they don’t go months without seeing each other That’s why the couple makes it a priority to schedule time with one another, no matter how short it may be sometimes. Carly says, “At the beginning of the year, we pick a week to block and then our people do understand – we have the same management team so that helps to be able to see.”
Aside from that designated vacation week, Carly says, “We really don’t like to go more than two weeks apart. We feel like that’s when my claws start coming out. Just as women, I feel like we need our man, even if it’s for a few hours.”
Even with the best of planning, things come up, like interviews and appearances for Carly to promote her latest hit song with Lee Brice, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” which is inching toward the top of the charts, and she says, “Honestly, our schedules change so frequently that we try to (sit down and plan) for like the next two weeks. Okay, you’re here, you’re here. Okay we’re going to have that night, okay, great. Okay, do I need to fly to you? We kind of do it every two weeks.”
Unfortunately, but fortunately, Carly and Michael are enjoying some unexpected, extended time together at home, due to the entire music business pausing all tours due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus. Based on Carly’s social posts, they’ve been enjoying binging lots of shows on Netflix and Hulu, lots of Halo Top ice cream, and even managed to sneak in a date night at the fairly empty Nashville Palace, which is where they had their first date.
