CURRENT SINGLE: “Next Girl”
A lot has happened in Carly Pearce’s life in the last year or so – her dear friend and the only producer she’s ever worked with on her albums, busbee, passed away, the pandemic took over the world and took her off the road and she got a divorce. Any one of those things would be a lot for anyone to handle, but somehow Carly managed to find the silver lining. “I think that a lot of things have happened to me, and I think that life sometimes throws you a lot of curve balls. And I think that in those moments is when you really step out and take a leap of faith and shine.”
While Carly has made some great music, including two number one songs, she hadn’t completely honed in on her style and the kind of music she consistently wanted to make, until now. “Losing busbee and really taking the time during quarantine to not be upset that I’m not on the road, but take kind of a look inside and say, ‘Who do you want to be in the format?’ I’ve always wanted to be the country girl, and this has been a huge blessing for me to really step out and own that. And I’m obviously really grateful for that in a roundabout way.”
Carly has given fans a taste of what’s to come on her third album, which she’s working on with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, with her 90’s-country-inspired, Patty Loveless-esque new song, “Next Girl,” which has been praised by fans and critics alike.
