CURRENT SINGLE: “Next Girl”
Besides looking out for women everywhere with her new single, “Next Girl,” Carly Pearce is also looking out for fellow rising female country singers. Just as Kelsea Ballerini was one of her champions, Carly says, “For a long time I was championing really hard Runaway June because I felt even though they came out before me, for whatever reason, just the way that the cookie crumbled, I was a little farther ahead than them and I felt like it was my duty to make sure that people were aware of them.”
A couple of up and coming women that Carly thinks are really special and wants to put on people’s radars are Hannah Ellis and Parker McKay. “(They) don’t have record deals but I see them hustling… (Hannah) was on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour and she’s just so talented. And then Parker McKay … she’s part of the CMT Artist Discovery Program, that actually I was supposed to be the first artist for when I put ‘Every Little Thing’ out, but as we can see, things changed and I got fast tracked. But Parker McKay, she’s great.”
Carly’s new single, “Next Girl” is a different kind of support for women everywhere, in the form of a warning not to become the next girl to fall for the smoother talker, say whatever he has to, to get you out of your dress guy.
