Cassadee Pope released her debut album a little over two years ago, and since that time she’s been working on her songwriting and growing as a woman and as an artist. Looking ahead to her sophomore album, Cassadee says, “I think the new music is definitely more self-aware. Just being in Nashville and writing as much as I have, you’re kinda forced to face yourself and forced to learn more about yourself and how your brain works.”
Opening herself up to other writers and being willing to explore her innermost emotions, Cassadee says, “I’ve learned that I have more of a sassy side than I thought and it’s definitely gonna show in the new music. I’m definitely an independent woman. I’m empowered. I wanna empower other people and I wanna stand for just going after what you want and having a thick skin and not letting anybody bring you down.”

WHAT SHE’S DOING THIS WEEK – JANUARY 25, 2016 – MONDAY
- Chris Young and Cassadee Pope have unveiled the video for their new duet single, “Think Of You.” The video was filmed at Sambuca Restaurant and Hermitage Café in Nashville and follows the two singers as they yearn for a lost relationship. The video can be seen here.
- Meanwhile, Cassadee is on the road with Chris Young on his “I’m Comin’ Over” tour with shows this weekend in Ohio. See all the tour dates
- On Saturday (1/23), she and her band were stuck on a turnpike on her bus in Pennsylvania for more than 10 hours.
