Some people think the woman in the song has already had her heart broken and is wishing she could do the same thing to the person who did it to her, but Cassadee says, “To me it’s a song about being the vulnerable one in a relationship because you’re more interested and invested than the other person, and with that comes the worry that they could break your heart at any given moment, and also the worry that they don’t love you enough to where you could break theirs. So, you’re kind of second-guessing even being in the relationship to begin with.”

Ultimately, Cassadee thinks it’s up to the listener to decide what it means and she’s glad that people have their own interpretations of the song.
