Charles Esten has had a love for acting and music for as long as he can remember, so getting to combine both of his loves on ABC’s Nashville is a dream come true. “It’s hard for me to describe how many blessings this show brings me at once, how many dreams it not only fulfills, but surpasses,” says Charles.
Charles feels like everything he’s done in his life and his career has been leading up to this moment. He says, “It’s almost like my whole life I’ve walked around collecting little colored pieces of cardboard and I’ve never really known why, just oh, there’s one, and that might be a good experience, might be a bad experience, might be something I learned, might be something I got to do on a TV show, might be something I got to do on a stage as a musician. All of these things I’ve collected over the years and then one day it’s like God said, ‘Hey, take those things out and put ‘em on that table’, and I did and I slowly realized that they fit together and when I was done it was this giant puzzle picture that was this show ‘Nashville’, and it’s been more than I really could’ve dreamed. It sort of outstripped what I had in mind.”
New episodes of NASHVILLE return to ABC on Wednesday, March 16th.
