THE MUSIC OF NASHVILLE: ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK SEASON 4, VOLUME 1 will feature “Like New,” a new single from Charles Esten, who plays Deacon Clabourne on the hit ABC show. While Charles has had several songs featured on the Nashville soundtracks, and one day he’d like to release a full-length album of his own. He says, “That is definitely a dream, and something that I have to make not just a dream,” but at the same time he says, “You gotta dance with who brung ya, and this show brought me here. So, I want to be the best part of it I can, not just for the acting, but for the music.”
Charles also knows before he can release an album of his own, he’ll need to do a lot more songwriting. He says, “For years I’ve been able to say other people’s words, sing other people’s songs, say it the way they directed me. So when you do make an album, it’s a little bit like, here I am, this is me, this is what I want to put out. But, it’s time to move forward on that. I hope to have something out before the season’s completely done.”
New episodes of NASHVILLE return to ABC on Wednesday, March 16th.

Nashville – Charles Esten putting out music :38
“That is definitely a dream, and something that I have to make not just a dream. So, yah, I mean, my focus has always been to do my very, very best at the show. You gotta dance with who brung ya, and this show brought me here. So, I want to be the best part of it I can, not just for the acting, but for the music. And then, I also want to do a lot of writing here in town, and having said that, making my own music and stepping up to the plate and finally putting something out, that’s a little bit daunting. For years I’ve been able to say other people’s words, sing other people’s songs, say it the way they directed me. So when you do make an album, it’s a little bit like, here I am, this is me, this is what I want to put. But, it’s time to move forward on that. I hope to have something out before the season’s completely done.”
