BRAND NEW SINGLE – “Take It Slow”
Conner Smith has spent the last few months opening for Thomas Rhett on his Bring The Bar To You Tour, along with fellow opener Parker McCollum. Thomas has become a mentor and like a big brother to Conner, so not only has this experience been a total dream, it’s also been a pretty sweet full circle moment, because of an experience Conner had about five years ago.
Conner Smith – what Thomas tour been like :52
“I mean, it’s been unreal. It’s stepping into such a massive dream. I tell this story every night on tour. When I was 16, I took a girl on a date to a Thomas Rhett show at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville. And the day after the concert she broke up with me, which is hilarious now. And so, it’s like five or six years later I get to open up for Thomas Rhett on this entire tour. It’s kinda hard to believe the dream I’m gettin’ to live right now. And at the same time it’s such a learning curve. Like, there’s no preparing you for that first tour. So, kinda growin’ into who I am as an artist and a leader and a touring musician, that’s a hard thing. So, it’s been challenging, it’s been super rewarding, but I couldn’t think of two better guys to learn from than Parker and Thomas. Just really really good dudes that have really just kind of cared for me and taken me under their wing, and both of ‘em have just kinda been like big brothers. So, we’ve had a lot of fun out there and I’m just kinda makin’ it up as I go, to be honest.”
The Bring the Bar to You Tour runs through October 15th.
