Florida Georgia Line released their 6-Pack EP this summer, featuring their latest party anthem, “I Love My Country,” but Brian and Tyler also recently surprised fans with guest appearances on three songs on Contemporary Christian singer Chris Tomlin’s new album, plus three additional songs that they helped co-write for the album. Anybody who’s been paying attention knows this isn’t the first time Brian and Tyler have worked with Chris. They’ve joined each other on stage, and Tyler even recently posted a picture of him and Chris riding mountain bikes through the woods.
Knowing how important faith is to Brian and Tyler, and knowing that they’ve been writing their own worship songs with Chris Tomlin, we wondered if an entire FGL gospel album might ever be in the works. Playing it extremely coy, Brian smiled and said, “You know, I think at first you’d catch us on Tomlin’s album, a couple songs on his album. Tomlin’s put together an amazing album with a bunch of different country artists and it sounds amazing and it’s a beautiful, beautiful project – some worship songs. They’re all spiritual. They all have a little element of worship and everything but it’s just fresh.”
While not divulging whether or not an FGL gospel album might ever be in the works, Brian said, “It’s very humbling to be able to work with Tomlin because he’s such a visionary. He’s such a legend and super talented to watch him do his thing. He’s one of our favorite collaborators and it’s been a joy to work on.”
Between their 6-Pack EP, their latest single, “I Love My Country,” and their many appearances on the new Chris Tomlin and Friends album, Florida Georgia Line has definitely been showing how multi-dimensional they are as artists, and how you never know what they might come up with next.
