Delta Rae just released their latest EP, The Blackbird Sessions, featuring their new single, “No Peace In Quiet.” They’ve also been working on an album that they plan to release later this year. Brothers Eric and Ian usually do most of the writing for the group, and when it comes to picking which songs the group will record, Brittany says, “There’s been some debate. Sometimes people advocate for songs more than others, and sometimes we’re disappointed when songs don’t make the cut. But that’s something that I think kind of makes us special. There’s rarely a fight about that. It’s kind of a, we believe so strongly in doing what’s right for the band, that those disagreements filter out and the right choice kind of comes to us naturally.”
The good news is, any songs Eric and Ian write that don’t make it onto a Delta Rae album or EP still have a chance to find life with another artist. “Songs that aren’t for Delta Rae, I think Ian and Eric are always pitching, you know to other artists,” explains Brittany. “And they can create and record on their own to put it in another place out in the world and the world deserves to hear those songs.”
Delta Rae just released a new EP called The Blackbird Sessions, featuring their latest single, “No Peace in Quiet,” plus their versions of “Silent Night,” The Eagles’ “Seven Bridges Road” and “Blackbird,” written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
