Until recently, brothers Eric and Ian Holljes did the majority of the songwriting for Delta Rae. Other members of the band have begun to get in on the writing process, but there are still some unique roles that Eric and Ian fill in the band. “I would say that I am a philosopher for the band, and a bit of an architect, and also a perfectionist,” says Eric, who wrote the band’s latest single, “No Peace in Quiet.” “There’s a lot of great creative energy that comes out of this band, and I feel sometimes like I help drive everybody crazy to make it slightly better.”
As for Ian, he considers himself the lyricist for the band, but he also says, “My wife is the attorney, so I tend to handle a lot of our legal matters with her. And I also am kind of grumpy old man for the band and that helps everybody.”
Yes, we’re certain it does.

Ian Holljes – “Eric’s a great lyricist, but that’s kind of where I started in music so that’s, I would say, my role is maybe lyricist in the band.
