Dierks Bentley has been a licensed pilot for over 25 years, but it took him a bit of time to get to the point where he could really afford to take advantage of his license.

“I started flying back in 1994, so I just was always really into it. And just because of time and money, it took a while to get my license. I got it in 97, and then I had no more reason, and really, money to do anything with it, so I kind of set it aside and didn’t pick it up for 15 years. Then in 2011, kids really is the reason why I started flying, it’s just to get more time with my kids. You get an extra like 12 hours basically, which is a long time when you’ve got three kids. I mean that’s a whole other night to put ‘em to bed, a whole other morning to make breakfast and do school. And then you come in the gig fresh, and you get a chance to fly, which I really enjoy.”
