If you’ve ever seen Drake White perform live, you may have noticed when he gets to playing rockin’, uptempo songs, like his current single, “It Feels Good,” he has a unique sort of signature stomp that he does with his left foot. It’s nothing he does consciously. In fact, Drake says, “I don’t think I really even knew I was doin’ it at first. I didn’t think about it. It’s just somethin’ that comes out. I’m left-footed. I’m right-handed, but I’m left-footed, so it’s always my left is my go-to stompin’ foot.”
Drake thinks his tendency to stomp while he sings comes from when he was growing up around people who played music and clapped and stomped along and he says, “Then I started tourin’ around and gettin’ on these stages where you could get a good resonating sound out of stompin’, and so I’ve always just kind a let the spirit take control of that and start playin’ music and stompin’.”
You can see Drake stomping on stage at fairs, festivals and clubs throughout the summer. Then he’ll join Little Big Town on tour this fall, throughout the month of October.
