(AUDIO) DRAKE WHITE RECALLS ROUGH AND ROWDY COLLEGE SHOW

Drake White attended Auburn University and spent a lot of time playing shows in college bars and one of his most memorable performances happened one night in a tiny little bar that was packed way beyond capacity.  Drake recalls, “The capacity was probably 75, maybe 100 people at the most. The most memorable was when the Auburn football team came in, there was 350-400 people in this little bitty bar. And it was just us up there playing and they were listening. We were playing covers and it was fun. Then a fight broke out and pool sticks were involved. It was this big thing, because football in the south is this huge thing. So some of the football players were involved and that was one of the craziest nights because the fire codes guy was there, I mean we were way over capacity there. It was just a mess, but it was also a lot of fun.”

Drake just wrapped up the fall leg of the Somewhere on a Beach Tour with Dierks Bentley and his latest single, “Livin’ the Dream,” is officially in the top 15 on the charts and still climbing.

Drake White – memorable college performance  1:10

“I think one of the most memorable performances, we were down in Auburn is where I kinda got my start. We were in this little place, I mean it didn’t even hold but about the capacity was probably 75, maybe 100 people at the most. We just started with two acoustic guitars and a PA on a stick. With cover songs and I’d throw in a freestyle song every now and then. I noticed my classmates started coming and then some of the football players started coming from Auburn. Then it kind of got to be like the place to hang out. So the most memorable was when the Auburn football team came in, there was 350-400 people in this little bitty bar. And it was just us up there playing and they were listening. We were playing covers and it was fun. Then a fight broke out and pool sticks were involved. It was this big thing, because football in the south is this huge thing.
