(AUDIO) ELI YOUNG BAND BONDS OVER MUSIC AND FATHERHOOD

The Eli Young Band was formed when the guys all met in college and decided to work together making music, and band member Jon Jones says, “I think for us when we graduated from college we stopped growing up because we were playing music and that’s kind of why we wanted to keep on doing it.”

But all of that changed when the guys all started becoming fathers.  Jon says, “I think that you have to grow up on another level when you become a father, and I think that was somewhat especially important for me and anybody who plays in a band … Because when you have kids, there’s this whole other responsibility and people you’re responsible for and you want to set a good example.  And you see this thing you’ve got to take care of for the rest of your life.”

Jon says fatherhood has, “made us a better band, it’s made us better friends and given us these new life experiences that we’ve been able to share together because there’s seven kids between the four of us. The two biggest things we have in common is the music we make together, our lives on the road, all that, and then fatherhood.”

Eli Young Band is preparing to release the follow-up to their recent #1 hit, “Love Ain’t.”
