Eli Young Band released their latest EP, Turn It On, a few weeks ago, featuring the title track as their latest single, and band member Jon Jones says, “The new EP is the next step for the band. In some ways the music is really pushing the envelope, in other ways we’re really kind a going back to some of our roots.”
He explains that before they settled squarely on being a country band, when they first started, “Before we ever had any songs on the radio when we were just recording in a friend’s basement and were really kind a going for some of those poppier, rock sounds, before we really established ourselves as a Country group. And I think we’re coming back full circle to some of that on this EP.”
Jon also thinks the four songs on the EP are a great snapshot of a moment in time for the Eli Young Band. He says, “The songs were written very quickly and we went in the studio very quickly, and that’s kind a why it’s just four songs, ‘cause we felt like these four songs captured a moment really well.”
