Summer is fair and festival season for artists who are on tour, and Eli Young Band says things can get pretty interesting whenever they play a festival. Jon Jones says, “It’s usually the last day of the festival. The first day everybody’s tame, it’s all fresh, clean and it smells good. But by the end sometimes if it rains can be the craziest because then you get all the mud people. There’s a nice mudslide. It’s always kind of fun.”
James Young agrees that the crowds at festivals definitely bring a different energy. “They really get into it and that’s what makes it so fun,” he says. “It’s kind of like a little community out there that’s kind of like their neighborhood for the weekend and then they bring that energy to the show and that helps us rock out.”
It might even be a little ironic for Eli Young Band to play their latest single, “Dust,” at a festival where it rains and the crowd is sprinkled with mud people.
