Although they don’t often have much time when they’re sitting around with nothing to do, Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band says when they do get some rare down time on the road they like to get out and explore a little.  Often times they’re in a city long enough to play a show and move onto the next town, so whenever they play gigs at places like state fairs or county fairs he says, “I think a lot of us try to get up early and go experience the fair before all the folks get there.”  They’re also working on a new album, which will feature their current single, “Drunk Last Night,” so Mike says, “A lot of times we have songwriters that come out on the road with us because we really feel like writing out on the road kinda creates a cool, creative environment.”
