The Eli Young Band just released their new single, a duet of the song “Honey I’m Good,” featuring the original artist, Andy Grammer as a guest vocalist on the duet. They’ve been making music for Republic Nashville, a division of the Big Machine Label Group, since early 2011, and lead singer Mike Eli vividly recalls one early memory of a visit to the label group’s offices. He says, “I backed into a car in your parking lot once and I realized who’s car it was, I won’t say which car, but once I realized, I was gonna leave a note, but I decided not to once I realized who’s it was.”
It turns out the car Mike backed into belonged to the Big Machine Label Group’s president and CEO, Scott Borchetta. He’s hoping that since it was so long ago, and now that the label is celebrating ten successful years in business, that Scott will let bygones be bygones. In all seriousness (and perhaps to stay in Scott’s good graces), Jon Jones says, “Thanks for making us part of the team. It’s been an absolute thrill ride for us, the part you’ve been there for, and let’s keep it rollin’.”
