In between touring and preparing to release their new album, featuring their latest single, “Dust,” Eli Young Band also has a couple of members who are busy being dads whenever they’re home. Mike Eli’s daughter Kline is 18 months old and he says she surprises the heck out of him and her mother every day. “She is a spitfire, crazy woman, but it’s been a lot of fun… started walking early, started talking early.”
Mike says one thing that amazes him is how quickly her vocabulary is building. He says, “I don’t think it’s necessarily ‘cause we did anything right, I think that we just talked to her like she was a little human being and she has picked up some of the craziest stuff, and you say something and two weeks later you haven’t said anything about and she’ll mention it. So, up have to be really careful around her, ‘cause I think she a lot smarter than her mother and I.”
Jon Jones’ son Hudson just turned one over the holidays and Jon was just thankful to be home when Hudson took his first steps. “We had a little break over the holidays, so that was the best Christmas gift a dad can ask for. ‘Cause I know there’s gonna be some milestones that I won’t be there for and I’ll have to see the video of it. So it was nice that he could walk to me for the first time.”
10,000 Towns, the Eli Young Band’s new album, will be available on March 4th.

She started walking early, started talking early, driving early. I think she’s at 18-months, going on 16. So, it’s funny to hear her vocabulary now.
