With four guys in the Eli Young Band, they each bring something unique to the dynamic of the band. Mike Eli says, “Jon (Jones) has always been that level-headed guy that’s kept me from going insane with some of my passionately crazy dumb ideas about where we should take this band. There will be times where Jon has to talk me off a cliff.”
Mike says Jon is also great at keeping the band living in the present moment. He says, “In many ways he’s kind of that guys that brings me back to reality and I think that in this band I think that sometimes you have to remind yourself to look at what’s happening there in the present and how important that is and Jon’s that guy that brings all four of us into the moment. I think that has a lot to do with why we’ve been so successful.”
These days the present moment isn’t a bad place to be for the Eli Young Band. They just released their latest album, 10,000 Towns, featuring their new single, “Dust,” and they’re out on the road with Darius Rucker on his True Believers Tour.

Eli Young Band – Mike describes Jon :36
Mike Eli – “Jon has always been that level-headed guy that’s, I know, kept me from going insane with some of my passionately crazy dumb ideas about where we should take this band. There will be times where Jon has to talk me off a cliff. In many ways he’s kind of that guys that brings me back to reality and I think that in this band I think that sometimes you have to remind yourself to look at what’s happening there in the present and how important that is and Jon’s that guy that brings all four of us into the moment. I think that has a lot to do with why we’ve been so successful.”
