Mike Eli and Jon Jones of Eli Young Band both have young kids at home, which makes it tough sometimes to leave home and go out on tour, but it also makes coming home that much sweeter. Jon says, “One of the best things is going home and just that excitement and there being an extra fun thing to go home to and feeling like there’s a real family unit to go home to. It’s kind of reinvigorated us of why we do what we do.”
Jon says fatherhood has also changed them in positive ways. “One of the best parts about it is really embracing that part of growing up, and being a dad,” he says, “and being a parent, because on the road we do live like kids. Looking back at your kid and seeing yourself is fantastic.”
Eli Young Band’s current single, “Dust” is about the break into the top 20 and they’ll be busy this summer with a combination of their own headlining dates, opening for Darius Rucker and opening for Jake Owen. You can see a complete list of their tour dates here.

Jon Jones – “Mike and I both have young kids at home and the toughest thing is definitely being away, and one of the best things is going home and just that excitement and there being an extra fun thing to go home to and feeling like there’s a real family unit to go home to.
