Mike Eli, lead singer of the Eli Young Band, is a father of two – his daughter Kline, who is six and his son Kash, who is eight months old, and he admits becoming a father has softened him up and made him a little more susceptible to becoming emotional while watching certain movies. Mike says, “Just your whole outlook on life … you know, I’m not like a watch the Hallmark Channel and tear up kind of guy, but there are some movies that can get me, especially when it involves a dog. I have a terrible time watching any movie where, you know, a kid is sick or something like that. That can turn me off a TV show real quick. But I think that’s just the dad side of me becoming a little more sensitive to that after having kids.”
Fortunately, Mike’s kids are happy and healthy, and the Eli Young Band is enjoying their latest single, “Love Ain’t,” sitting in the top 20 on the charts.
