Some people make New Year’s resolutions when they want to change a bad habit in their life, other people, such as Mike Eli from Eli Young Band, knows he needs to change a bad habit, and he tries, but it just never quite sticks. Mike says if he could change one thing, it would be, “Biting my fingernails. It is the worst thing. You know, musicians we tend to get a little anxious … and man, biting my fingernails. I would do anything …”
If Mike bites his fingernails when he gets anxious, then chances are he’s been biting them lately as EYB’s latest song, “Love Ain’t,” inches closer and closer to the number one spot on the charts. But he has tried to quit in the past. Mike says, “I started doing really well. I started putting that stuff on my fingers and I started doing well, and then the baby [Kash] came. And it’s funny, ‘cause I had started doing it around when Kline was born too, and then it gets on the food and… so I don’t know. Maybe one day.”
Perhaps once 10-month-old Kash gets a little older, Mike can try quitting biting his nails again.
