With two young kids, Mike Eli of Eli Young Band loves Christmas and almost everything about it, except for one thing … glitter. “For better or for worse,” says Mike, “when glitter starts floating around, I kinda give a little eye roll to Christmas. Because that is the only thing that I don’t like about Christmas is glitter. I live in a house full of girls and they like glitter and that’s just one of those things that is a part of the holidays. So, they’re very nice and understanding sometimes and try to pull back the amount of glittery items that make their way into the house.”
But even if Mike’s wife and daughter try to keep the glitter at the holidays to a minimum, it’s one of the inevitable parts of Christmas cards and bows and ornaments and bags, and Mike says, “It’s funny, because we get rid of the glitter, it takes six to seven months before you ever get rid of all the glitter, and then it’s back in November. So, there’s a lot of it. Ahhh, the holidays and glitter.”
Eli Young Band has concerts scheduled all the way through December 21st, as they continue to promote their new single. “Break It In,” but then they’ll have four weeks to spend time with their families and enjoy the holidays before they hit it hard again in 2020.
