Mike Eli and all the guys in Eli Young Band graduated from University of North Texas, but Mike Eli admits he never really gave much thought to what he would do with his marketing and logistics degree. “I would love to say that I had like this major backup plan,” says Mike. “It’s really hard to see myself doing anything else. I know I was always infatuated with the music business I always wanted to do this and play music for a living.”
If his dreams of becoming a performer hadn’t worked out, he says, “I don’t know if I would be using [my degree] for anything other than music. I would hope that I would still be in the music industry somewhere.”
If music hadn’t worked out, Mike supposes he might have sold cars since he likes cars. But with great songs like EYB’s current single, “Love Ain’t,” it looks like he won’t ever have to test out his car salesman skills.
Eli Young Band – Labor Day :31
Mike Eli – “I would love to say that I had like this major backup plan. It’s really hard to see myself doing anything else. I know I was always infatuated with the music business I always wanted to do this and play music for a living. But I did go to college. In the Eli Young Band we actually all got our degrees. We finished school at North Texas and I have a degree in marketing and logistics. I don’t know if I would be using that for anything other than music. I would hope that I would still be in the music industry somewhere. I might have been selling cars, like cars, I don’t know.”
