(AUDIO) ELLA LANGLEY HAS HAD TO FIND NEW WAYS TO BE POLITE

current single: “YOU LOOK LIKE YOU LOVE ME”

When Ella Langley wrote her debut single, “You Look Like You Love Me” with Aaron Ratiere and Riley Green, she never even thought it would be released as a single, much less be on the verge of becoming her first number one song of her career. So, when she thinks about everything that has happened to the song, including being named the CMA Musical Event of the Year, she kind of laughs about the impact it’s had on her life and potentially the lives of other people. For instance, since the first line of the chorus is, ‘Excuse me, you look like you love me,’ Ella has found that her saying excuse me to people when she’s just trying to get past them or be polite, can be a little awkward.

“I at least get this line multiple times a day. I’m not allowed … I have to say pardon me, or can I scoot past ya, or at least just a little less polite than I was before. But yeah, I mean, when we wrote the song, we were laughing thinking this might cause some marriages, maybe some divorces, and definitely some children, you know, (laugh).”
