Ever since Brett Young’s baby girl, Presley, was born eight months ago, his household has definitely been a lot busier, but as far as how fatherhood has changed him, Brett says, “Aside from the obvious day to day, you know, we wake up earlier, we have less time to ourselves – when I say we it’s mostly Taylor – but I think it’s a huge priority shift in the best way.”
No matter how crazy things have gotten with a new baby, Brett says, “All of a sudden you’re more content and you’re more calm. And it’s crazy because the house becomes more hectic with a crying baby, a hungry baby all the time, and less sleep, but your priorities become more clear. And so even though everything going around you is more hectic, the big picture is more clear, and so, I think there’s just this shift of priorities and clarity of thinking where you know why you’re doing all of this and what it’s all about.”
Brett’s life was changed so much by just the idea of fatherhood that he wrote a song to his daughter before she was even born, which is his new single, “Lady.”
