Florida Georgia Line recently released their summer jam, “I Love My Country,” and while fans are happy to have new music from BK and Tyler, they may also be cursing the duo for filling their head with the infectious earworm, which causes you to walk around muttering, “I love my country … I love my country …” Brian Kelley understands, because he says, “We’ve been walking around muttering that for about a year and a half so, we’re all in the same boat. But no, it’s a good thing.”
While they couldn’t have predicted the environment in which they released the song, with people being stuck in their houses due to the coronavirus, feeling anxious, uncertain and stir crazy, they couldn’t have released the upbeat, positive “I Love My Country” at a better time. BK says, “All this pent up energy only means one thing – you know, when we all get to tour again it’s gonna be one big ol’ party and all the energy’s gonna be amazing. Right now it’s a waiting game, but in the meantime, we had to get something out. It was super important for us to start to share this next phase, this new music, this new energy, and this song is just kind of perfect timing.”
“I Love My Country” will be featured on Florida Georgia Line’s follow-up to their Can’t Say I Ain’t Countryalbum, which they haven’t released details about, yet.
