Florida Georgia Line caught a lot of people by surprise with their brand new single, “H.O.L.Y.,” which is a bit of a departure, sonically, from a lot of their earlier hits. Brian Kelley explains, “It’s a love song, it’s a spiritual song, it’s beautiful. I think it’s probably the most beautiful song we’ve ever recorded, ever sang.”
The ballad, which features fairly stripped down production and highlights Tyler Hubbard’s voice on leads may seem like a stretch for FGL, but Brian says, “I think it’s gonna shock a lot of people but I think it couldn’t be more us. We both got our start in church, so it’s a very fitting song for us. Our wives are in the video and it’s definitely an anointed single.”
Brian hints there are more surprises in store for fans when Florida Georgia Line releases their next album this summer. He says, “This record is something much bigger than us and it’s really, really humbling that we’re here on record three. I think we’ve just pushed and pushed and pushed and kind of found our direction and went 110% as hard as we could that way. And I think, yeah, it’s gonna be big.”
Based on the success of “H.O.L.Y.” so far, it’s likely FGL will be announcing an album release date soon.

- Florida Georgia Line kicks off their “Dig Your Roots” tour on Thursday (5/12) in Tupelo, Mississippi.
- The guys will be performing on NBC’s The Voice on Monday (5/9).
- The duo announced that their upcoming new album will be called Dig Your Roots, just like their upcoming 2016 tour name.
