(AUDIO) FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE DOESN’T EVER WANT TO GO BACKWARDS WITH THEIR ALBUMS

When Florida Georgia Line chose to name their latest album Can’t Say I Ain’t Country, some people thought it might be a message to their haters, but Brian Kelley says, “It’s not necessarily a fire back or a rebuttal or an answer it’s just very necessary for us to put that out there. That’s who we are, that’s who we were, that’s who we’ll always be.  And it is our most country record, probably, for sure, thus far.”

At the end of the day, FGL doesn’t feel the need to prove themselves to anyone in terms of how country they are or are not. For those who haven’t heard the entire album, Brian says, “A lot of the songs have a little bit of a 90s country element, a little bit of a vibe there.  But our influences are kind of running through everything. No artist should ever repeat themselves and make the same record twice or you’re going backwards.  So, just another take of our version of country music and staying in our lane.”

Can’t Say I Ain’t Country features Florida Georgia Line’s latest single, “Talk You Out of It.”  It’s also the name of their tour, which will run through September.
