When Florida Georgia Line was putting together the release plan for their brand new single, “I Love My Country,” there was no way they could have known where the world would be with the coronavirus pandemic, in terms of so many people sheltering in place at home, feeling anxious, and dealing with the emotions of such uncertain times. But now that their infectious summer jam is out, Tyler Hubbard says, “It’s just wild. The timing, now that we are where we’re at with everybody being on lockdown. This song is just so much fun and it feels like something that can kind of bring a little joy, a little positivity, a little encouragement to some people in this time that we’re all kind of living through, the unknown and figuring it out together.”
Just like millions of people, Brian and Tyler of FGL are staying close to home and trying to make the best of the situation while keeping themselves and their families healthy and safe, although Tyler admits he has found himself falling into some bad habits. He says, “We definitely try to do a workout or something active. What’s easy for me, personally, is to start doing all the things I shouldn’t be doing, like I’ll just eat all day long, or I’ll start making cocktails at, like, 2 o’clock. And I’m like, ‘What am I doing?’ This is not a real vacation. This is like, a lifestyle that I need to figure out how to adapt to.”
Fortunately, Tyler has managed to make some good decisions, like “try to eat healthy for a week and then workout steady, and then also, just spending time with the family and investing in our marriage and investing in our children.”
Mostly, FGL is trying to maintain a good attitude during this time, which is where they hope their song, “I Love My Country,” will help some people. Tyler says, “We’re staying positive and we know this is eventually gonna be over and life will resume as it once was. And so, we’re just trying to learn from this and remember what we’re grateful for, and the things that we maybe took for granted before this.”

Tyler Hubbard – “For me, I think the Kelley’s too, I mean, we’ve all just tried to hunker down in our house and enjoy family time, and do unique things.
