Florida Georgia Line will host their first-ever FGL Fest music festival on September 7th at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the night before the running of the Big Machine Vodka 400 at The Brickyard powered by Florida Georgia Line NASCAR race. The “Talk You Out of It” singers are more than ready for this year’s event, because last year, which was supposed to be the inaugural year, got rained out, and Brian Kelley says, “So there’s just a big build-up of us doing the first annual, anyway. So we’re all jacked. We feel like it’s gonna be even better than it could’ve been. We’ve had a lot of time to plan.”
With FGL Fest being the duo’s own music festival, it means they got to handpick who would be on the bill with them, and Brian is excited because he says, “We got Nelly, Blanco Brown, we just added him. He’s got a big ‘ol hit runnin’ up radio right now (“Te Git Up”). Dan and Shay, who have been on tour with us all year, so we know it’s gonna be something the fans are gonna wanna show up and show out and have a good time.”
The line-up will also include Mitchell Tenpenny, Canaan Smith, who FGL just signed as the flagship artist on their new record label, and brand new Big Machine Records guitar slinger, Payton Smith.
The idea for Florida Georgia Line to host their festival as part of a NASCAR weekend was a no-brainer for them. “We really feel like the whole NASCAR industry and the fan base is pretty much the same as what we see every night,” says Brian, “and we know it is. So we love partnering with them and it’s just gonna be a really cool weekend full of music, full of racing. I grew up in Daytona going to the 500 year after year after year. Tyler loves racing dirt bikes, so it’s right in line with who we are, what we love and we always love just kind of trailblazing a new road for us.
Tickets for FGL Fest and more information are available on either FGLfest.com or IMS.com.
